The short answer
Zillow is a large rental marketplace with maps, filters, photos, alerts, and application tools. Kate is a planned end-to-end rental assistant in WhatsApp: you describe what you need once, and she sends available homes that fit. Beyond discovery, Kate’s planned service books showings, takes applications as photos, points you to the owner’s screening request, and sends the lease for e-signature. Check original listing details as you choose a home.
What Zillow already does well
Zillow lets renters browse a large inventory, compare locations on a map, save homes, receive app notifications for new rentals, and apply on participating listings. Those are real strengths. If you want to explore a neighborhood visually or manage a Zillow application, the Zillow app is the right place to do that.
Where Kate is different
Kate’s proposed experience begins with a conversation in WhatsApp. You can say “three bedrooms near Orlando, under $2,800, dog friendly” in your own words, and Kate replies with a short list of available homes from owners who listed with her brokerage and, once connected, the MLS, ordered by rent. She does not copy listings from Zillow or other sites. From there the same conversation continues to a showing, an application, and the lease.
Use them together
A practical approach is to browse Zillow to understand the market and use Kate to coordinate the rental journey. When Kate sends a home you like, check the listing details she gives you for current availability, fees, photos, and contact details. Never send money or sensitive documents based only on a message.
What is available today
Kate’s live listing integrations and WhatsApp number are not connected yet. The site demonstrates the intended experience; it does not use Zillow’s listings or deliver real listings.
Try the WhatsApp-style conversation preview, meet Kate, or compare HUD rent benchmarks for 13 U.S. markets and Florida. Live inventory, WhatsApp, screening, and e-signature integrations are in development.
